Frequently Asked Questions On ANTIAGING MEDICINE:

1. What is Antiaging Medicine All About?

Use of naturally occurring compounds and medication is helping men and women regain the vitality and vigor of their younger years and maintain their healthier lives longer.. It's about not waiting to go to the doctor until something is terribly wrong. It's about taking steps to insure optimal health, not "minimum wage" health. Through the synergy of hormone management, optimal nutrition, and exercise, our patients are seeing remarkable improvements in skin tone, increased mental acuity and focus, strengthened immune systems, increased lean muscle, decreased fat, and revitalized sex drive and performance.

2. What exactly is hormone modulation and how does it work?
Hormone modulation is the science of optimizing hormones that are no longer being adequately produced by the body. While genetic programming does many wonderful things, nature's plan brings us to the age of reproduction and nurturing, and then seems to have little use for us. At that point, we begin to fail. In fact, much of aging can be seen as deficiencies in many of the substances that our body once produced in abundance. The goal of hormone management is to modulate our hormones to the levels at which our immune system is the strongest, our metabolism the most efficient, and our ability to build muscle (rather than fat) is the greatest.

3. How long before you can actually see results?
While this varies with each person, some people feel results within days. You can expect to feel results within three to six months after beginning hormone management. Often the results of proper modulation are manifested by what you don't feel, i.e., sick, tired, moody, etc.

4. How long do I have to be on these therapies?
You should give your program at least six months to see significant benefits. Your body needs that much time to heal and rebuild. You should stay on the program for as long as you want to optimize your health.

5. What happens if I stop the program?
You will have gained time while you were on the program, but if you should elect to stop, you will experience no accelerated aging. Should you stop the program, your body will simply begin to age again at the normal rate.

6. At w hat age should a person start such a program?
It's never too early, or too late, for any adult to begin the nutraceutical program. A person does not need to begin hormone modulation therapy, however, until such time as the body begins to lower its hormone production. Our thorough blood tests and assessments help us determine exactly where you may be most deficient and how we can best help you. Every person is different and will have different needs as far as hormone modulation goes.

7. Will the AntiAging treatment interfere with my currently prescribed medications?
Generally not. In some instances, medications may actually be reduced or no longer needed. We work with your primary physician, who will help advise you best on this.

8. Will you be taking over as my doctor?
Absolutely not! As a wellness program provider, we are happy to communicate with your current health care team, and/or any specialists you may be seeing. We strongly encourage you to continue your usual visits with your regular doctor.

9. How many pills does one have to take on a daily basis?
The number of pills you take daily depends on your medical, hormonal, and nutritional needs. Of course we  will also consider your individual tolerance for taking pills. Hormones and nutritional supplements are conveniently supplied and will be mailed to you directly on a predetermined schedule.

10. Why does Human Growth Hormone (HGH) have to be injected?
Human Growth Hormone breaks down if taken orally, so the only truly effective way to obtain its benefits, at this time, is by injection.  New technology allows it to be provided via nasal spray form for absorption from your nasal mucosa without need of injection.

11. Is this type of program FDA approved?
HGH was approved by the FDA for treatment of hormone deficient adults in the summer of 1996. While not all of our patients are deficient by FDA standards, therapies of this type are prescribed "off-label" and considered acceptable medical practice.

12. Isn't it unnatural to inject or ingest hormones?
The HGH we use is identical to the human Growth Hormone naturally produced by the body. It is spread to its target organs just as it would be if secreted by the pituitary gland. Supplementing HGH is as natural as supplementing thyroid hormone. It simply returns your body to a state in which it is functioning more optimally.

13. How do ‘Andropause’ (male menopause), ‘Approaching Menopause’, and ‘Life Beyond’ programs stack up against the "full" program?
The Andropause and Menopause programs are, respectively, important components of the full hormone modulation program. Many people will want to begin immediately with one of these two focused programs. At any time, you can "upgrade" to the full hormonal modulation and nutraceutical program.

14. Is Growth Hormone safe? Will it make things "grow"?
Human Growth Hormone is safe in physiologic doses. Among its many functions is that of repairing and re-growth of tissue. When a person reaches maturity, Growth Hormone is important for cell revitalization and repair. Cells cannot repair, maintain, and heal properly in its absence. While HGH is sometimes used to help stimulate height in children who are pituitary dwarfs, it does not make an adult grow taller. There has been absolutely no correlation between physiologic dosages of HGH, such as those given in our programs, and cancer of any kind. Quite the contrary, HGH has proven to be extremely helpful in strengthening the immune system, increasing mental acuity and focus, and preventing the onset of diseases usually associated with aging.

15. There's been a lot of negative press recently about HRT for women. What do you think about that?
It's very important to distinguish between natural and synthetic hormones. Traditionally, synthetic hormones have been used in hormone replacement programs for menopausal women. There is a big difference between, for example, the commonly used progestins (Provera, Noresthisterone, etc.) and bio-identical progesterone found in natural progesterone creams. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy for menopause.

16. Can I start on a comprehensive hormone modulation and nutraceutical supplementation program without leaving my hometown?

Yes.

17.  Is there a cost to have an AntiAging Consultation, and is it covered by insurance?

We offer a one hour consultation and body composition analysis at a cost of $150, half of which will be credited to your first purchase of products within the recommended treatment, essentially meaning that you get the consultation for no cost out of pocket.  Insurance will not typically provide coverage for the consultation, but may provide coverage for several of the needed laboratory tests which will be ordered to establish your individualized program.

18.    Is there any obligation following my consultation and laboratory work?

No obligation for you to learn more about the AntiAging medical information explosion, and find our recommendations for you to enjoy a more robust and healthy existence.
